Adventures of the Week 3/13/2016

Beware the phony caramel

Tomorrow is Pi Day. Yesterday I went to an early celebration, so of course I had to make a pie. I opted for caramel apple pie. Unfortunately, the grocery store didn’t have the caramel you use to dip apples in. Improvising, I bought ice cream caramel topping instead, thinking they’d be pretty much the same thing.

The regular apple caramel melts nicely into the pie filling. The ice cream caramel explodes all over your oven and makes a mess of everything. Just in case you were wondering.

I make a new friend

Music can really unite people. Especially if that music is from Hamilton. The other day I was walking home from class and this girl was doing the rap from Cabinet Battle #1. She stopped and I picked up right where she left off and we’re friends now.

Kyra vs. Jar

Last week I decided I was going to do a really adult thing and eat a healthy snack. So I got out this jar of pears that I’d been saving. I cut myself trying to get the jar open. I felt so betrayed. And I couldn’t help thinking “Chocolate wouldn’t have done this to me.”

This is a picture of a bracket I found in my notebook. I did not write this. I have no idea what it’s for, but obviously Miranda and Caleb were projected to do well. I’m not on this bracket. Which is probably just as well because I can’t even handle opening a jar.

Taylor Swift lyrics of the week: You’ve got that James Dean, daydream look in your eyes and I’ve got that red lip, classic thing that you like.
